Having similar problem. Extending the waiting time for DHCP netcfg/dhcp_timeout=120 (installation option) or ensure portfast is activated on the gigabit swtich will ensure dhcp works out properly. Otherwhise this happends on my x86_64 arch in both virtual and physical environments.
Effectively swthing into a shell on screen 2 I could find 2 instances of rdnssd: 10240 root 8696 S rdnssd -f -u root -r /tmp/rdnssd_resolv 10241 root 10796 S rdnssd -f -u root -r /tmp/rdnssd_resolv Killing the first one allowed the installer to continue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987761 Title: precise-server-i386 installation hangs upon retrying the auto network configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netcfg/+bug/987761/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
