After upgrading to Ubuntu 17.10, I connected my Wacom Intuos tablet,
which has touch and pen functionality.
Controlling the mouse pointer through the touch functionality seems to
work fine, but using the stylus produced very strange behaviour,
depending the program.

of Flash - the plugin is installed (I can use Flash in Firefox and
Chromium), but there is no packet "flashplugin-installer" or
"flashplugin-nonfree" installed.

You can solve this the following way:
Just create a text file $HOME/.config/video_format and write into this
file "PAL" or "NTSC".
The reason is that DVDAuthor does not support default video format any
more, so you have to define it.
It worked for me. :)

I have Firefox 2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10 installed on my machine. I
don't know, whether this is the version that you applied the patch to,
but at least Synaptic tells me it's the most recent version.
However, with this version, still Thai is not rendered correctly on a
UTF-8 encoded website and
I have the same problem. Vowels and tone markers are not rendered at the
right place making Thai text (nearly) impossible to read.
It's a font problem. If you have a website with Thai encoding
