I compiled the intrepid version for hardy and the problem still happens.
It is still spinning on the unavailable unix socket. According to gdb
this happens in libxcb because it gets a xcb_connection_t with the fd of
the socket. Probably the output below helps. Please tell me if you need
any furthe
this happens very frequently here. it makes liferea nearly unusable on a
laptop, after some usage it will quietly increase its cpu usage to 100%
and drain the battery.

The problem is caused by buggy caching dns servers in the routers. The
IPv4 (!) dns query for a is simply ignored and not answered so the
resolver waits until it timeouts.

When using the "copy cd" submenu entry for CDs to create an image of a
CD nautilus tries to start readcd which is no longer available in the
cdrecord package.

Yes, it is even commited to the TRUNK and currently reviewed for 1.8.x.
It is not attached this bug, but to the remote bug (and changes only 2
lines).

The problem seems to be caused by the upgrade of gtk+ to 2.10.7 on
1/8/2007 in feisty (see upstream bug).

To narrow down the problem:
While dragging a message it immediately bounces back when a folder is
hit in the folder pane (while still holding the button and moving, not
waiting for the drop)

i think the change happened at the time of the update to
1.5.0.9-0ubuntu1. no settings were changed.

starting vmware with
VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force vmware
removes the message but vmware will also quit immediately.
