ndiswrapper. No point in raising the bug since it's been the same since
8.10 till now, due to the buggy rtl8187b mod.

Like tarung1793 says it's sometimes up and sometimes down for me, even
with the linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic packages
installed. It's a shame that supporting a thing as simple as WiFi takes
weeks and why wouldn't it drive people away from Linux, in general?

I'm having a very weird issue with a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Ubuntu
9.10 and kernel 2.6.31-14. The system goes into hibernation every time I
plug AC power.

Thank you for the workaround but this is not really a fix. This behavior
of "DHCP by default" is incredibly faulty. I have 2 interfaces. Both are
connected to the same network for specific reasons and due to this weird
"feature" everytime I boot I need to shutdown the eth1.
