i dont think that this bug is a duplicate of #63789 .
- on my laptop only speedstep-centrino gets loaded on a clean edgy install
- with 2.6.17 i only have two steps; with 2.6.18 (also without the phc patch)
4 or 5.
--> it has nothing todo with the
after you've installed the package you should

FEATURE REQ
Public bug reported:
I just installed sbackup and tried a backup to a mounted usbdevice.
The only thing I can see it that a directory is created with a file ver with
the content "1.3" in it nothing else happend and I couldn't find a logfile.
I'm using edgy.
** Affects: sbackup (Ubuntu)
Public bug reported:
Normally since edgy (afaik) the radeon module is loaded at boot time.
/proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/power tells me that my processor uses only the
c2 state when the module is loaded and X is running on the active
terminal.
Without the module loaded, my processor uses the states
i talked to the maintainers and they told me that to include it in the
mainline kernel is nearly impossible. Look at
http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/7/4/246 .
if the patch can't get in ubuntu, maybe a seperate package with the
patched speedstep-centrino module will help the users to use this
feature...

this works on redhat, so it does not seem to be a OOo bug.

Public bug reported:
I cant open a file on a gnome vfs source like an ftpserver.
I just get a message like "general i/o failure" (German: Allgemeiner

I tried the same thing on redhat; i was asked for the password of the
ftpsite and everything worked as expected.

I've the same problem here with OO 2.0.4-0ubuntu2.
I tried to open a file with the open-dialog in openoffice. In the
"Places"-area on the left side there is a saved ftp-connection. I'm able
to list files and directories there but it's not possible to open or
save a file to that ftp-connection with

For many users with Pentium M processors this patch is really nice.

Another idea might be a seperate kernel package for Pentium M users;
with all optimations possible for them.
It's not easy to compile an own kernel for ma
