I've the same problem here with OO 2.0.4-0ubuntu2. I tried to open a file with the open-dialog in openoffice. In the "Places"-area on the left side there is a saved ftp-connection. I'm able to list files and directories there but it's not possible to open or save a file to that ftp-connection with openoffice.
