the same error messages in dmesg. Moreover, since a few weeks ago, the
home directory sometimes gets broken in a way that all list requests
(ls, browse in nautilus) hang just on the home directory (process in S

So what is the new recommended way to setup cgroups that should always
exist even after a reboot?
I found a lot of documentation about cgroups.conf but it simply does not
work on 14.04.
Or are cgroups generally a concept that is being abandoned? Is there an

works only for console applications.
The important point I wanted to make is: it does not require a hardware-
level-reset to restore the functionality.

I had this message as "error during cleanup: installArchives() failed"
and the window with the log shows the end of a python backtrace and
there is no way to scroll back in the window because of the error popup
dialog.
However after confirming the error, the system was able to reboot and it

It turns out removing the linux-image-3.2.0-64-generic package (this
also requires to remove linux-image-generic) afterwards gave an error
message and my /vmlinuz file was gone.
Marking the linux-image-3.2.0-63-generic for reinstall in synaptic and
reinstalling it recreated the files and terminate
I had the same problem just now on a 12.04 while upgrading the kernel:
The file /lib/modules/3.2.0-64-generic/modules.ccwmap grows until the
disk is full.

Killing depmod makes it run again, killing it again makes the upgrade

After deinstalling gstreamer plugins and totem-mozilla plugin and
disabling gstreamer setting in firefox the problem disappeared.
I then step-by-step reactivated these packages except for the
totem-mozilla plugin. The bug did not appear again.
I will now install totem-mozilla and see what happens
Is there anything I can do to help with this problem?
The hardware is still effectively unusable for me and I tried every
possible workaround (except for giving up on Linux which is not an
option).

Yes, this test was done after deinstalling the rtl8192cu-fixes and after
removing the module blacklisting for the native module.
I will do the upstream bugreport (hopefully today).

When I say "Turn Off" in the network manager, the syslog shows garbled
content like a mismanaged buffer or uninitialized memory. I have
attached the part of the syslog and a hexdump of the garbled two lines.

After some more testing with 3.14-rc8 I can confirm that the situation is just
a tiny bit better than in the repository kernel:
* associating to the cellphone accesspoint does not always work and the syslog
shows several attempts until it works if it works
* if the connection is there, it is unst
