I have a IeI AFL2-W15A, industrial panel PC that has a RT3090 wireless card.
Exactly the same issues as above but I have not been able to get it to work
with most of the suggested fixes either.
The only thing that works is the deb that @motheprime suggests.
Install that and everything seems fine.

This patch fixes #221973, #135033 and #224241.
It's made against 3.0.10-1 and nothing else and is supposed to fix the hardy
issues.
I have started looking at the intrepid version and will probably be able to fix
that one soon.

I have the same problem on my Sony Vaio SZ71. I know the Vaio is a
troublesome bastard in the linux world but I don't think that's the
issue here.
I sometimes get the wireless up and running but I still haven't found out what
procedures that makes it work.
The hardware kill switch seem to work,
This isn't directly related to #221973 so the patch should perhaps go in there.
#221973 Was required in hardy because else it won't start after a reboot. When
fixing that one I noticed that a upgrade to that "patched" version failed
because of another bug. This bug (#224241) is now fixed in 3.0.

I'm running an updated(2008-04-15) Hardy release on my Acer Aspire 3003LMi
In previous releases i had a working battery meter but now it doesn't detect it
at all.
When I try to run "cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state" i only get
cat: /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state: Bad address
How hard is it to create a package with just the udev rules and have
dependencies set up from all three of them?
This would include the group and the rules.
Just a suggestion, i'm not good enough at packageing to do it myself and
for the moment I don't have time to learn.

I got it to work with the following fixes that I got inspiration from on

I can confirm that it works with Acer Aspire 3003 LMI and gome-power-
manager_2.17.90-0ubuntu2 in feisty. Whatever fixed it should be done for
edgy as well as running unplugged is somewhat risky without knowing your
battery status.

I can read and mount SD cards but I think the integrated smartcard reader uses
the same chip but nothing happens.

I run Ubuntu 6.10 and have monodevelop 0.12-0ubuntu2 installed.
It crashes on startup after displaying the splash screen and loading some
stuff.
The most important line from the console output I think is..
"MonoDevelop.Core.AddIns.MissingDependencyException: Required add-in
The info in /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state and info seems ok and have
relevant values.

I have a Acer Aspire 3003 LMi using edgy (and recently updated).
When running with the power "unplugged" the battery meter only seems to have 2
levels 100% and 0%.
If I unplugg the power at 100% and runs unplugged for a while (like 15
It's back.

Here is a log for gnome-power-manager also..
It doesn't say 99% power but 0% when it should be about 70-80%

I just dissasembled my computer to check that it wasn't a physical
hardware failure... and it was. I'm sorry for bothering people. I just
reconnected a lose cable and the touchpad started working again.

This is more serious than i first thought.. The touchpad doesn't work in
Windows either.
I dualboot and went in to windows to check if the touchpad worked there but no.
It doesn't work in linux-X or linux-console with gpm.
It doesn't work in Windows either. The touchpad seems broken..

kernel 2.6.17-10.27 is the one that I'm running.

made my touchpad unusable.
It doesn't respond to movment or clicks.

There is a typo in the text that anounces that a specific user is about to be
logged in.
It comes out on the login screen as something like this
