I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and the package has version smstools-3.0.10-1 This time it is /var/run/smstools that isn't recreated after /var/run get's it regular cleanup at reboot. This bug is somewhat related to #135033 + + Steps to reproduce + 1. Install package ( sudo aptitude install smstools ) + 2. Make sure the smstools daemon is running ( sudo /etc/init.d/smstools start ) + 3. Verify the existence, owner and group of /var/run/smstools. It should be owned by smsd and the group should be ( ls -la /var/run ) + 4. Reboot + 5. Login and repeat step 3. There shouldn't be any /var/run/smstools at all if this bug still is present
