I can confirm that the full procedure covered in #1 and #5 has worked
for me once I added one addition change. I found a file in
/etc/modprobe.d with the line "alias nvidia off" which prevented
bumblebee from loading the nvidia module. It was in /etc/modprobe.d
//blacklist-nvidia.conf which I belie

INDOWS OS it has to be a BIOS issue of
some sort. Maybe its the overtemp trip in the CPU which is to sensitive, but
as it only occurs in BIOS mode seems this could be changed somehow by a change
in the BIOS?.

HP8510w. I just put up with it by letting cool down for 5 minutes. Strange is
once it gets into Windows it does keep running OK.

is wrong in Lubuntu. Do Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced Tab and add the
option -e to the string so it reads "x-terminal-emulator -e %s" - this

regression: uvcvideo module makes "cannot reset port" error
I have now run karmic on my Wind U100 off a LiveCD on a USB CD/DVD
drive.
1. It is impossible to run the LiveCD if the webcam is enabled but it can be
run OK with webcam off.
2. modprobe uncvideo does not have any adverse effects with webcam off
