Marcelo, I don't think your problem is the one described in this bug.
The background and fonts color in the software center are theme
dependant in the latest version. If you try the "high contras inverse"
theme that comes by default, you should see the background of the
history section in dark blue
The software center present in maverick now seems to fare well with
different themes. I think that version fixes this issue.

The new software store present in lucid has changed its color scheme,
but still remains using hardcoded colors...I wonder if you can use
variations of the colors defined by the theme. For instance, if the
window background color is #ddd, use #aaa (ie, use a darker color...).

I just runned memtest once, and it went fine. I'll leave it now
overnight to see how it goes.

used that seem to be hard coded into the application. This makes it look
inconsistent with the look of many themes, specially those that come by

I hadn't been able to check up on this bug report for some days, but now
checked it again, and it seems this issue was already fixed. Print
dialogs work fine, gedit doesnt display this odd behavior, and I have't
seen it anywhere else.

I was just trying to get a screenshot of this behaviour on gedit, but
the default gnome take screenshot action makes the text be rendered
correctly. Also, losing focus seems to fix the rendering with gedit, but
this does not work with the printers list problem.

I Installed intrepid alpha 5 on three different computers, and only
found this problem in one of them.
After making an update, gnome could no longer complete startup. It loads
the background image, and that's it. I can move the pointer and exit the
session with alt+ctrl+backs
