on inspection it was found to be Plasma made to look like Gnome! It is

I uninstalled snap's snapd but the new package appears to be called
snapd-desktop-integration . After installing that Firefox no longer
displays the file not found page. Weirdly, the file still does not
exist! I will close this thicket if that's ok with you.

Hi Andreas,
The upgrade process downloads the old version (release-upgrader version
'24.04.18' started from /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.apt) even though I
have 24.04.19 installed (ii ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:24.04.19). I
even tried pinning the noble-proposed packages to 600 to no avail.
Is
I was! Had to find the old disk with Mantic. I couldn't get anywhere
with Noble. Unseen by me NetworkManager had been removed and couldn't be
reinstalled due to these unmet dependencies. After a reboot I didn't
even have Ethernet, much less WiFi.
Has this issue been resolved now. Should I just dow

Many thanks for you reply. The only explanation for trying to load
zip.so.so I can find is that in the PHP config it was trying to load
"extension=zip.so". I have removed the .so and it's still loading the
module zip. As the error went away when I built the file from scratch I
can't tell

It appears to be colord.
When the service is stopped KDE / Plasma is able to dictate the colour
profile to be used.
So KDE / Plasma 5.21 is unable to act as a client to colord and its
desires are being overridden by colord on a polled basis. Ubuntu / Gnome
is able to override what colord defaults
Appears it's not limited to just Plasma. Every login option apart from
Ubuntu (Xorg) exhibits the same behaviour. For some reason I now have
Ubuntu, Ubuntu (Xorg) and Ubuntu (Wayland), and Plasma (X11) offered for
login. Plasma (Wayland) just hangs.

My laptop screen needs colour corrections. In Groovy this worked but in
Hirsute it doesn't.
I calibrated the screen and have a good profile. In Groovy I used the
systemsettings5 app to install and use this colour correction. All
worked perfectly.

ureadahead service fails with err
I tested the same installer on a different computer and it worked
perfectly on that one, so there seems to be an issue with the installer
and my computer. If I use the installer from releases.ubuntu.com it
sometimes works and sometimes also crashes.
