Is it worth linking this bug up with the one at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/382626 as even
though they're not an exact match it seems evident that an overhaul of
nautilus' interface would be welcome.

Nautilus file browser toolbar is complicated, redundant, and ugly
See attached for a basic idea - I would've expanded further but I never
realised how awfully Gimp handles layers!

It does seem odd that evince deals with it in this way fullstop.
If we want to drag text on the same page, we have to select and then drag
otherwise nothing happens, whereas with an embedded image it can just be
dragged and will open up another version of evince with it inside.
Surely if we're ma
I can't provide the application form (not in the public domain) but another

I've seen this as well - confused the hell out of me when it first
happened and I'm not a novice. I have an application form that looks
like page of text but is actually a page sized image, accidentally
swiping the mouse pad caused evince to grey out (compiz) for a good
minute before opening anothe

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nautilus
When viewing the properties on a file in nautilus, the basic pane
consists of a number of pieces of information such as name, type, size
etc.
It has a location: entry as well but for long paths this information is
useless as it is 'ellipsised'
* Is this reproducible?
Yes
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
Goto a directory of PDFs, scroll mouse wheel to zoom in and behold the
misbehaviour of nautilus
* Could you add a screenshot showing the issue?
No problem

I hunted out this as I had a similar problem as I was installing without

from there via grub.
I *simply* performed the following which prompted ubiquity to spring

Just did a clean install with the 8.04 LTS (not the release candidate)

says the bug is triaged but no ideas for a fix or anything? This is a
shame it made it into the LTS final, quite disappointing.

Is there any news on if this was fixed upstream by the intel guys? It's
just that by the gutsy beta all wireless/graphics glitches were fixed
and this is still ongoing with the latest beta builds

I don't think attaching valgrind would work. I'm none too aware of why
and when it happens. It's quite random. If you can document exactly what
i need to change to plug it into valgrind then I can make sure that any
future crashes are caught correctly.
Thanks, Nick.
