Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
On right clicking a directory to enable sharing, the automatic downloader is invoked to fetch and install samba/nfs. This installs without hitch but when completed the same prompt continues to appear until cancelled (which is bad!). After this the file is still not shared, however reselecting the folder and attempting to share again causes a PolicyKit popup to appear to authenticate but this is not given focus and prevents tabbing/selecting the window to see the settings. Blindly typing in my password removed the prompt and allowed me to select to share the folder as originally desired. Confusing behaviour! nautilus: Installed: 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)" ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Wed Mar 19 16:44:17 2008 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus Package: nautilus 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus Uname: Linux 2.6.24-12-generic i686 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- Sharing the 'public' folder causes buggy behaviour https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
