Hi, I got my headphone working with maverick. For those who want also to solve
this problem, I got the solution from:

In my case I used this option
options snd-hda-intel model=asus-mode3
and I also had to create the alsa-driver symbolic link as described in

Update:
I've removed the line I had added to alsa-base.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=asus-mode2
and now we are back to 1st state: Plug headphone and no sound at all
and I don't know if this helps, but last time (10.04) I solved the bug with
this thread, but didn't work now.

Hi, I've installed the linux-alsa-driver-modules package (via command
line)
reboot and now the headphone is mute and the speakers are working, even
with the jack plugged.
