Public bug reported:
A simple application that only includes liveMedia/liveMedia.hh and does
nothing will induce a compile error.
Output when compiling the attached program:
> g++ test.cpp -o test

from /usr/include/li
Yes, the symptom is reproducible when using alsa directly with the
M2496. The Intel output was silent, which I'm guessing is due to me
disabling it somewhere - I only use the M2496 sound card. I'm guessing
the affected package should be updated to reflect this, but I'm not sure
which package it sho

is high.
Playback has been tested using a variety of sources, including video

Could you please point out which questions I haven't answered? The only
question I can find is that Steffen Banhardt asked if the posted
solution works. As I posted earlier, the proposed solution did not work
for me. After some additional testing I withdraw my need to run killall
compiz for the fix
I'm affected by the same bug when logging in. I've tried the posted
solution without any visible difference.
If I bring up a terminal and run the following, the panels shows up on all
displays as they should:
killall compiz
killall gnome-panel

Drew, I had the same troubles, but managed to install the driver by
remotely connecting to my computer using SSH and installing the driver
from my laptop. I don't know if you have access to another computer, but
if you have it might be worth a try.

Drew, the driver is available for download here:

I have tried the driver and I am still having the same problems. I am
not using that computer at the moment though, so I am unable to provide
information about my system.

I'm having this problem as well. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 with a 9600GT
running TwinView on nvidia-glx-177. Fortunately, my left monitor is
running 1920x1200 while my right monitor is running 1600x1200, so
dialogues are displayed on the left monitor only. I also have the same
issues with full screen
Mekaniserad Apelsin posted a temporary solution at ubuntu-se.org that
keeps the package installed for new updates: http://ubuntu-
