When you get your icons distorted right-click on the affected panel

I suppose your wlan0 is down during boot-up and eth0 link is down.
Try ps -A in terminal to check, if miredo was started or not.
However it should reconnect late

After upgrade from karmic to lucid IPv4 enabled version of websites load
prior top IPv6 ones. I'm using miredo. ufw is set to accept IPv6
traffic. However, even if ufw is stopped the problem persists.
IPv6 connectivity is present - I can connect

In my case init indicates sreadahead as STOP/CONT signal...

You encouraged me to perform further tests with newest stable kernel on

Camera started to work in Multimedia Systems Selector (gstreamer-properties)
with the following pipeline: v4l2src device="/dev/video1" with acceptable frame
rate and lively colors :) :) :)
But in Skype and Camorama it still looks bad :( Cheese works perfectly

Black screen on boot. When using vga=xxx option.

My post concerns Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex default kernels (2.6.27-2.3,
2.6.27-3.4 tested).
I can only see black screen during boot when using my favourite
"vga=79"1 or "vga=792" options ("splash" and "quiet" removed from grub
menu.lst option of course). Problem also affects Alt+F
Confirmed using 8.10, 2.6.27-3-generic (i686), 0.62.1ubuntu8!
My problem is that "consider recommended as dependencies" switches
automatically to "on".
It is really annoying.
