Ungroup all objects. That workaround works for me. I posted it on the
forums as well.
I hope that helps somebody. Enjoy the holidays everybody!

I'm using a fully updated Lucid install, and I've been listening to
Amarok for a couple days without running into this problem.

Well, I finally decided to get back to working on this bug, but by that
time Karmic was in alpha six or so. I tested it in Karmic, and it
worked fine, but I decided to wait until the final release to post this
comment. It seems like this bug is a side-effect of how the splash
screen affected the
I just re-installed Jaunty with the final release, and it's still not
running on startup, on both my desktop and laptop. It did occur to me
that this problem could just be on amd64. I hope to have time to work
on this via IRC tomorrow.

Origami doesn't start automatically on startup in Jaunty
Well, it turns out that the bug didn't go away, but I have more details.
The culprit is the splashscreen! That seems a little odd to me, so I'll
tell you what led me to that conclusion.
What happened was the time it worked I saw the messages at boot because
the system was doing something extra (u
Well, I didn't do anything and it's working now. Whatever was causing
it to not start must have been fixed in the last load of patches I
installed. So, I suppose this bug is no longer valid. I'll let you
know if it pops up again for some reason.

Well said, Qoquaq. A bug report isn't really the place for this, but I
thought I'd add something to that comment. Criticism is fine, as long
as it's constructive criticism. Most people are happy to receive
constructive criticism. In fact, I believe that Ubuntu has a places for
it. There's brai

Most of it's in the summary. Interestingly, Origami will start if I type in
the command:
~$ sudo /etc/init.d/origami start
I don't know enough about run levels to go digging further at the moment, so
that's basically all the information I have. Oh, and this is on 6

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: wallpaper-tray
The wallpaper-tray package does not install an executable on Jaunty.
It's simply not found, even after I re-installed the app a couple times.
The man pages, however, are present.

What was a persistent and annoying problem has turned into a bit of a
freak occurrence. When I started using my laptop today after leaving it
on all night it seemed like the bug had disappeared. It took some work,
but I can still consistently trigger it. Here are the steps:
1. Log in
2. Start A

Binary package hint: amarok
I just updated 64bit Jaunty today (17 Feb 2009) on my laptop and Amarok
(2.0.1.1mysql5.1.30-0ubuntu1) will not resume playing music after I
pause it. This happens both when I try to pause/resume from the tray
icon and from inside the main applicat
I had a problem where my laptop disconnected from the network and
wouldn't reconnect, but this time the system didn't hard-lock. I've
attached part of the kernel log that looks relevant. The network I use
is an open 802.11g network.
** Attachment added: "kernel log for 802.11g connection trouble
I'm having the same problem as ZeblodS after installing the linux-
backports-modules. My laptop will hard-lock and all the kernel log says
is "wlan0: disassociating by local choice (reason=3)".

Well, my computer just hard-locked while listening to music in
Rhythmbox. The only thing is that I'm not sure what the cause is. A
few times I've looked at my wireless connection, and I've seen that it's
working when the lock-up occurs, and that's both with the hard-lock and
just the program lock
I've had Amarok and Rhythmbox running from the console when the
'scratch' problem I mentioned occurred, and they didn't output anything,
but I think the right people are already aware of this issue from what
I've read during my searches concerning this problem. Something related
to buffering.

I would also like to note that I've been experiencing the exact same
behavior with Amarok since I upgraded to Intrepid yesterday. I didn't
run Strace, but the crashing then eventually disappearing from the panel
but still running in the background part happened. I also had to log
off and log back
Actually, I have a single core Athlon 64 system that I'm getting this
bug on, but I copied the OS over from my dual-core laptop by making a
tarball of it since I had made several changes since the install that I
didn't want to go through again. I'm not sure if that makes a
difference or not.
