Public bug reported:
Hello.
Skanlite saves my images as PNG by default on a fully updated Kubuntu 11.10
with the Kubuntu-updates ppa enabled.
This creates 30 MB pictures which are so big Skanlite suicides.
After I rescanned the pictures as JPG, the pictures were only 1.7 MB and
Skanlite worked f
The bug is still here, both on a Sony Vaio with Unity and an Asus EEE PC
with Unity 2D. Both fully updated, fresh Oneiric installs.

I don't agree with you.
Should we then also rename Firefox to Webbrowser, Banshee to Music player and
Libreoffice Writer to Word processor?

It affected me too.
I have been using this method since 9.10 (when I had my first Ubuntu upgrade)
and it was easy and fast.
Now I removed the partition, resized windows to the full hd and went back and

This obviously takes a lot longer and is not as direct.

I think I know what´s causing this:
I used some PPA´s which I removed, but I kept using the ppa version of the app
The software center keeps the ppa because you still use the ppa version.
After forcing the program back to the lucid version with synaptic, the
ppa disappears in the software center
Hello Hercules,
personally I think something like:
Install Ubuntu onto your hard drive ;
would help already.

When you hover your mouse on the install Ubuntu a message will pop up:

This message can scare off new
I am now running 10.04 the default frequency was 85hz. (like in the other

But this time the resolution was perfect, although with the 85hz my screen was
