@vanvugt I appreciate your help. I did removed all the extensions and
disabled the animation. However this did not helped to mitigate the
issue.
I found a tweak to mitigate the issue on bug#1866256 (@ernstp) by again
enabling the animation again which resolved the issue.

I am currently into version ubuntu 16.04, somehow I got to know about
the new release 18.04 and I can directly upgrade it through software
updater tool. I did that, the tool even showed that you have 18.04
update available. I started the update, everything went fine, I did wha
PS: to replicate the bug, you may install mariadb on ubuntu(version 10.2), then
install Postgresql version 9.5 with postgis version 9.2

I have attached the log file for the qt5 case in which icon doesn't

I do have appmenu-qt5 package installed and i am using unity 7.4.0

I created an gui application which uses 'SystemTrayIcon' to put an icon
on systemtray. It works correctly when I build application with qt4
irrespective of ubuntu version.
But same application doesn't work when built with qt5. I tested on Ubunutu
15.10 , 16.04 beta2 and 16.0
The same is happening on my system.
I used strace to see errors in the installation, and i saw this line in
/tmp/trace
open("/var/lib/dpkg/info/mysql-server-5.7.triggers", O_RDONLY) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
Can this be the culprit?

Fax works on 15.10.
Clear the "/var/log/syslog" and try sending fax. THen attach the the

If we change the softlink to point to another python version, we need to
reinstall hplip. Did you do that?
Try resinstalling HPLIP and check if things work.

of Vim and then i removed the development version of Vim and rather
installed the ubuntu version(using sudo apt-get install vim).
