[Bug 1940756] Re: VirtualBox always using mic, breaks all audio playback

Thank you, 6.1.26 does not mess up the sound, though the notification about the mic being in use is still present. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940756 Title: VirtualBox always usin

I switched to using the generic kernel. If you're hardware is so old 340 is the latest graphics driver you can use, you probably don't need Focal's HWE. The generic kernel is supported until 2025. I expect I'll replace this device by then either due to getting sick of the driver's poor performance

I'm having the same issue. Both host and guest are 20.04 and Virtualbox 6.1.10 packages from Ubuntu repo. I'm not able to change the guest's resolution *at all,* which makes it unusable for anything with a GUI because nothing written in the last 10 years gracefully downgrades to 800x600. I've tried

I didn't have this problem until upgrading 20.04, though I also upgraded the video card from HD5000 to R7 when I did. Try setting "Hardware- accelerated decoding" to something other than Automatic or VDPAU. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/1871949/comments/8 -- You received thi

This issue only happens with some of my video files and the issue seems to be with VLC's "Hardware-acclerated decoding" setting. When that is set to either Automatic or VDPAU, those files always cause VLC to need to be killed. When set to Disabled or either of the VAAPI, VLC behaves correctly. At
