This issue only happens with some of my video files and the issue seems to be with VLC's "Hardware-acclerated decoding" setting. When that is set to either Automatic or VDPAU, those files always cause VLC to need to be killed. When set to Disabled or either of the VAAPI, VLC behaves correctly.
At this point, I'm not sure how to debug further. I can't get VLC to emit any useful messages. Some of the docs for other distros is saying VDPAU only works well with NVIDIA hardware. I don't have any, so I might purge those packages if they cause other problems. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871949 Title: VLC won't load 2nd video To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/1871949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
