And again some information. With boot option nousplash kubuntu xorg
starts, screen is flickering white while login icons are animated,
background changes also to white, then the desktop is shown, no task
bar, just one icon (install). Then a message pops up "Could not start
ksm server, check install
OK, again some additional information:
- kubuntu alpha6 completely crashes, i get something like " - - ] -" repeated
again and again, i can't even switch to console F1 ... F6 because nothing
happens then.
- I have no splash in hardy (in guty I had splash)
- In gutsy everything is ok, I just uploa
OK, it seems to be a bug with MBP or something which is build in MBP
(EFI?) because I have a MBP with nvidia graphics (nvidia 8600 GT in MBP
rev3, you should have rev2) and the same issue like you. I know that's
possible to install nvidia css drivers, but nv trivers also work in
gutsy, so it should

While testing hardy 64bit the first time outside a vm I get a nice problem:
bulletproof xorg does not work. With a usual boot, first xorg log is this:
