Public bug reported: While testing hardy 64bit the first time outside a vm I get a nice problem: bulletproof xorg does not work. With a usual boot, first xorg log is this: > http://files.ernestoruge.de/misc/bugs/normal/Xorg.0.log.old Xorg seems to crash, then failsafe mode gets active. I get an error message like "Ubuntu is running in low graph mode", then I can test the configuration, the test succeeds. While having the error message on top I get this xorg log: > http://files.ernestoruge.de/misc/bugs/normal/Xorg.0.log.before After clicking "continue" xorg does not start and in xorg log theres one line added: > http://files.ernestoruge.de/misc/bugs/normal/Xorg.0.log.after The syslog looks like this for a normal boot: http://files.ernestoruge.de/misc/bugs/normal/syslog
The funny thing is: kernel failsafe mode works. Heres xorg log and syslog: http://files.ernestoruge.de/misc/bugs/failsafe/Xorg.0.log http://files.ernestoruge.de/misc/bugs/failsafe/syslog For hardware I use a MacBook pro rev3 with a 8600GT from nvidia. I think rest of hardware specs are not thaaat interesting. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] bulletproof xorg fails completely with mbp rev3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196242 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
