shutdown and boot. It seems like during boot, everything happens in the
correct order. As you pointed out, this is as expected due to the
"After" parameter in the service-files.

My precise issue was that input devices aren't shown in the Sound
Settings dialog that's used in Unity – and that the input volume was set

Actually, with the new audio dialog, the Volume slider at the bottom
doesn't react to scrolling at all. Neither does Balance in the right
pane of the Output tab. The slider in the Effects tab also doesn't
react. And not per-application audio.
In summary; none of the sliders react on scrolling anym
As you can see, I'm not on entirely friendly terms with my wifi adapter.

it is that when I search for an application and then launch that
application, the search is remembered the next time I open the dash.

I see the exact same thing as Greg Auger using RV780. HD3100, I think.
The same thing happens to the first character in the panel when it shows
the window title, but when the window controls are displayed, there's no
sign of it.

I don't think Chris Coulsons comment is valid anymore. In Precise, we
now display downloads in the dash first page. So a non-actionable
notification would do just fine. When you see the "download complete"
notification bubble, you'll just press super and you'll see it there.

Clicking on an album in the music lens causes no reaction.

Clicking on a song in the music lens will make the dash go away and
launch Rhythmbox. However, when you click on an album, nothing happens
at all. The dash doesn't even close.

New Dash Home has different recent apps/files than lenses

The files lens still displays results in the opposite direction, so that
the oldest files are displayed first. To activate a recently used file,
you need to scroll to the bottom of the list. The dash displays it
correctly, though. This is really annoying. Hope it'll get fixed soon.
