Public bug reported: While creating a screencast to show how easy it is to install software in Ubuntu, I came across a bug.
I went to http://www.google.com/chrome and downloaded the 64bit deb package. I chose to open it with Ubuntu Software Center, which then opened, showed some basic information about Chrome, and allowed me to click the Install button. The install started, but there was no icon added to the Launcher. Also, it seemed to be aborted during install. There were no indication that it had been installed; the progressbar went inactive and the install button became clickable. I repeated those steps a few times, without any change. I then chose to download the deb and open it from Nautilus. Then it became installed immediately, but there's still no Launcher Entry.
