[Bug 1200829] Re: Regression: Enabling typical bindings in "Desktop-based Viewport Switching" breaks scrollwheel scrolling in some windows with a usb mouse on a laptop

2014-04-05 Thread Doug Barton
WindowMaker had the ability to scroll desktops with the mouse wheel 15 years ago. Xubuntu has it now. It is completely unclear to me what is preventing this being fixed in compiz. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https:

[Bug 1296167] [NEW] xubuntu 14.04 b1 - elementary-icon-theme cache file invalid

Simon, Thank you for taking the time to consider this report. However with resepect I believe that you are thinking about this problem in the wrong way. I count at least 2 dozen icon themes in synaptic. That would render "fix it upstream" a Herculean task, even if we could guarantee that it would

A little more detail from discussion on IRC ... The only themes that have the internet-mail icon at all in the 14.04 b1 default install are elementary-xfce and HighContrast. The other themes lack this icon and will trigger the bug as described above. In the /usr/share/pixmaps directory the follow

Public bug reported: The XFCE main menu in xubuntu uses the "internet-mail' icon for the default "Mail Reader" menu entry. Many icon themes have that icon, but many more do not. If you choose one of the themes that does not have that icon it will disappear from the menu. I worked around this issu

There is no need to add anything to compiz to do the workaround. Just use the Window Rules Plugin and set the Non maximizable windows rule. I only have a couple windows that give me problems, so I used the "Grab" feature to get the window classes, and ended up with a rule that looks like this: (cl

I see the same exact behavior as timothee. If I unminimize the window before clicking a link in another app, no problems. It's the 'unminimize as a result of being called up by another app' behavior that triggers the bug. I also see this with thunderbird if it is minimized and I click a "mailto"
