I've had this same problem. Oddly, the bug isn't present in the beta for

Can this be targeted to libmutter too? I'm convinced a solution similar
to the one that solved the same (or at least very, very similar) problem

this. Would such a change be there?

I'm having the same problem. I've noticed that if I have the headphones

If your workaround can make it into Precise before release day, you'll

Odd. Makes sense, but odd. This is a recent problem, I don't believe it
existed in Compiz 0.8, it certainly wasn't around in Lucid Lynx.
I wonder if it's due to new Catalyst drivers, rather than the new Compiz
version. It might be worth compiling the latest fglrx on Lucid to see if
this bug occurs
Possibly. I'm using a Radeon HD 3650 and I have the problem with both
the default open source drivers and after compiling and installing the
latest proprietary AMD catalyst drivers.

Same problem on an Acer 6920g with an ATI graphics card. It's visible on
both the default opensource drivers and the FGLRX drivers, so I don't
think it's a graphics driver issue. Quite annoying looking, wasn't

Indeed. My efficiency has been reduced dramatically, each time I want or

serve you, so that you can get right to work. This regression has
absolutely reduced that, to painful levels.

Even if it is changed to be more distinctive on the Launcher, that still puts
the logo of Ubuntu, that visual identity that immediately proudly draws

Aesthetically, that is horrific.

I still have this problem. It's as though the entire window decorations

Hmm. Perhaps an additional requirement to trigger the netbook mode

It's a shame the menu for unmaximized windows can't appear in their
window decorations, eg, their titlebars.
I do agree that the menu could potentially be confusing, it's the main
problem with trying to make the panel replace both the menus of every
window and the titlebar of the maximized window.
I don't think it's confusing for the panel window controls (and panel dragging
abilities as I said when making this bug) to work for the uppermost maximized
window when it isn't in focus at all.
In fact if the current window in focus is unmaximized, it will have its
