I am seeing exactly the same behaviour in xsensors 0.46 (xsensors

I have lm-sensors installed on the Edgy system, and successfully ran
sensors-detect, inserted the appropriate modules, and then ran sensors. Sensor

Since the Java 1.5 license is OSS compatible (1.4.2 isnt), maybe that
should become the default for both this and openoffice. Not only was it
considerably faster, but a number of java related issues (read CRASHES)
stop.
That is unless both the serious and repeatable issues, and speed
problems with
Ralf, I had already long worked around it. It is just the case that IMHO
this behaviour is incorrect.

not installed. If I install it, I first hit problems with having enabled

Bingo - GCJ sounds an extremel likely culprit, as I was having an issue
with OpenOffice.org also when creating a database, which turned out to
be down to GCJ as switching JVM made it work. This is Bug #60979.
Meanwhile, can we get eclipse to use the Sun JRE instead?
