this is very old indeed. Since I was never able to configure bacula
properly, i did not use it. since I was also not able to use my ati
graphic card properly, I have switched to debian and it works.
I am no longer willing to support ubuntu, sorry

Since a re-install of ubuntu 11.10 one week ago an actual system does no
longer reproduce the bug: partitions are unmounted cleanly and can be
mounted without recovering.
for me, this bug could be closed since I am not able to reproduce it.

Banshee has been correctly running for two weeks, after that it starts
and stops without any possibility to interfere.
Ubuntu 11.10, banshee 2.2.1, packages updated within the last 24 hrs.
I expect banshee to start and to let me choose audio or internet radio.

I have now Ubuntu 11.10 installed. Fresh install, partions /, /usr, /var
freshly formatted and the system could umount. However, after installing the
uptodate updates, the same behaviour as before.
I am now down to run from tty1 init 1 several times and umount -a till
the filesystems are umounte
it looks that gtk2-engines-pixbuf is not installed by default. after
installing this package (together with gnome-themes error is gone.
The bug is the missing installation.

sorry I was to fast:
It worked only once: I had opened nautilus with the (standard) home
directory and could open a second tab using ctrl-T. But then again, when
I tried to change from home to a network directory, this took forever
and the network directory thus was never loaded, which worked
