Same problem on my notebook and my desktop after installing latest
upgrades.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
When playing shorten files rhythmbox crashes after playing around 1:10.
gdb tells me the following:
GLib-ERROR **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.17.4/glib/gmem.c:136: failed to allocate
192000 bytes
aborting...
Program received signal SIGTRAP, Trac
The latest rhythmbox versions in intrepid didn't create this static but
crash rhythmbox after playing a bit of the shorten file. Do you think I
should open a new bug? I remeber being able to play those files
correctly some time ago.
