I just tried to install the latest RC of Gutsy on a Compaq R3000z laptop
with a 1650x180 screen and an Nvidia GeForce 440Go graphics card. The
live CD misconfigured the display, all I got was diagonal stripes. This

This is weird. I did a control alt backspace to restart Xorg and that
fixed the problem. Apparently this is a startup issue.

I'm seeing the same problem. I'm trying to do an install on an HP R3000Z
(AMD64) laptop that currently has Fedora Core 5 and 6 as well as WinXP
on it. I'm trying to replace FC5 with Ubuntu 6.10. I've selected the FC5
