@Daniel T Chen : yes its reproducible even with 9.04 ! we cannot boot
from a RAID5 software raid using grub.
i can boot from software RAID1 , but not from a software RAID5 .
possibly this might be impossible by design, because in a raid5 (with 3
drives or more) we need ALL x-1 Drives to get proppe

dont know anything about linux sound architecture. but after a fresh
ubuntu 9.10 installation on my packard bell VEGAS2 (aka asus mainboard
with nvidia onboard chipset/sound) there is no sound at all. however i
was able to see in system mixer that i was able to switch the inpu
if this is WELL KNOWN bug meanwhile... WHY THE HECK is this Bug not been
fixed and redistributed through the ubuntu repos for jaunty ?!?!
See, this is an example why Linux is still not that popular at common
computer users. a simple user dont wants to hack C code or wont wait
YEARS for such a crit
i can confirm that behaviour with Debian Lenny and Gq 1.2.3 (tar ball
installation) and also with lenny and gq_1.0.0-3+b1_i386.deb (debian sid
repository)
1. After fresh start of GQ any connection to a saved LDAP server will fail with
the error message mentioned earlier.

i tried suspend and hibernate the first time. it seems the screen gets
black but at some point nothing more happeneds.. the computer does not
switch himself off or goes in hibernate or suspend mode. ( i tried both
with pretty much the same results)
swapon -s shows that there

about "intel's" statement:
that problem persists even after reboot. it seems it just didnt
installed that "dm_mod" module into /etc/modules or whereever its
supposed to be listed.
so this seems to be STILL a bug.. not a feature.
