dont know anything about linux sound architecture. but after a fresh
ubuntu 9.10 installation on my packard bell VEGAS2 (aka asus mainboard
with nvidia onboard chipset/sound) there is no sound at all. however i
was able to see in system mixer that i was able to switch the input to
the right port and i "saw" the VU that there been input on the
microphone. so it seems "half" working.
