The Ubuntu 12.04 DVD amd64 installer could not install a bootloader
probably since I'm installing on a system which has RAID on it. I
installed mdadm manually before starting the installer.
In the error message window I opted for not trying to install a

The description matches what happens on my Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu 10.10
(fresh install, not update).
I occasionally use an external monitor, but this also happens after a
cold start with no monitor attached. I have auto-login enabled. I have
set up an ecryptfs encrypted directory manually.

waiting for approx. 2 minutes, gnome-screensaver eats ~99% CPU, unlocks
also if I drop to a virtual terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and kill the

the TTY1 console I see two gnome-screensaver-dialog processes, and
killing the later one causes the password to be accepted and my desktop
to be displayed.

sticks in bug 63005. Which of the comments did you mean?
Mind you, the USB stick boots just fine on another laptop (the HP Compaq
nx6310), and the 10.04 ISO written on the same stick works fine on the

Just did a clean install of Lucid 2010-04-02 on a Dell Mini 9. Installed
a few packages with the GUI tool in the Applications menu, then a few
more using apt-get. Then added the file /etc/apt/apt.conf/99proxy to use

When unplugging my Dell Mini 9, often I get a message which tells a
correct charge percentage (e.g. 75%) but estimates remaining time at 1
minute. The laptop then hibernates (and freezes completely because of
the sleep/hibernate-with-SD-card-mounted bug).

I was typing in Emacs and Xorg segfaulted. The keyboard and mouse didn't

I verified that the crash/freeze occurs also when Gnome-Do is not
