Just happened again on the same netbook I originally reported about. I left it idle for about 50 minutes. When I returned, I launched two short scripts with Gnome-Do and then tried to interact with Google Calendar which was open on the screen. Same symptoms: mouse does move the cursor, but clicks and keypresses don't work.
What can I do to help? Try another kernel? Xorg-edgers? Enable some debugging? Here's what I have in Xorg.0.log.old this time (very similar to the original report): [ 4.261349] (II) intel(0): Allocate new frame buffer 2304x1024 stride 4096 [16053.373361] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [17604.404304] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [18024.045273] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [18867.025313] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [18916.719279] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [20287.880726] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [20293.022484] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [20703.308575] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [21076.152276] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [21497.107396] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [21535.265384] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [23279.885879] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [24075.847622] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [24177.042877] (II) XKB: reuse xkmfile /var/lib/xkb/server-F30D752BAEAAD4B8C79BE2C421539A0D3700902C.xkm [mi] EQ overflowing.
