AFAIK "Report a broken web site" is suposed to be used when Firefox can't
render the page correctly.
But in this case this is not a problem with Firefox, but with the OpenJDK
plugin or even with the interface between it and XUL/Firefox.
This is specially true because: 1) after changing the JVM th
Backports aren't, IMHO, an "official" relase.
This should be marked as fix released only after it hits the official repos.
But then again, i dunno how the update policy works around here :)
Cheers!

Hello Waldir, sorry for teh delay.
Glad you could find a way around the initial problem. Weird/funny that

@PJSingh5000: i also had that problem just after installing Kubuntu. It worked
for me after i installed the fglrx drivers from the repos, and ran: aticonfig

But since you already have these, i dunno what the problem might be.

It appears I celebrated to early...
After doing the ldconfig the logout stop working again :(
After installing the xorg and amdcccle the glxgears wouldn't work, complaining
it couldn't find the libGL.so.1.
After doing a ldconfig /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 is pointing to

The new ati driver worked for me as well.
Converted it to .deb using the --buildpkg Ubuntu/hardy, and installed the
xorg-driver-fglrx and the amdcccel.
After that finally i can logout without anything hanging.
I also needed to do and "ldconfig" so OpenGL would work.

I can confirm this bug on my Dell Vostro 1000.

I can confirm that.

If you need any output to help diagnostic the problem let me know.

IMHO, ALL update/security sources should be available after any install, even
if it is made offline.
This might be the case in enterprises where people install Ubuntu offline and
