In gnome classic (installed via sudo apt-get install gnome-session-
fallback , select gnome fallback at login ) alt+tab does not switch
applications.
Workaround is identical as in bug #971051.

This problem is due to sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-lts-quantal
package that is installed (with amd radeon hd2000-4000).
Other configurations do not seem to be affected

I have noticed an identical problem in 12.04.2(3.5 kernel with xorg
1.13),
Flgrx also fails to install drivers, the conflict being here is the
unsupported xorg 1.13.
I have noticed considerable speed improvements on open source radeon
drivers from 3.5 kernel to 3.8 kernel.

Happens with all sorts of video files, although mp4 dont seem affected.
Steps to reproduce
1- open a video file , e.g. .VOB .MTS etc
2- open with totem video player
3- video length much shorter than actual length.
For example totem shows total video time of 15 seconds where
12.04 LTS will most likely work with hd 4200, it works with my amd 4570
(same hd 4000 series) with 13.1 (previously 12.6) amd drivers. 12.04
will be supported for 5 years, i.e. until 2017.

windows . As in did you download a .exe file to install it?

Dont know if this is to do with this problem but i have only ever been
able to install the proprietary fglrx driver and not the post-release
update. I could not get the top driver to work on neither kernel.

Have now tried to get the amd driver to work with no avail-- automatic gui
based installer fails after downloading and so does the terminal based install,
downloading a driver off the amd website.
i'd rather stick with this kernel until everything is fixed other than endure
auto unmount (possibi
