** Visibility changed to: Public

** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability

** Description changed:

This happens at random when i try to hibernate my system (12.04) lts
sometimes it hibernates properly and others it gives me that error-which stops
it hibernating so i have to push the power button for it to turn off.
My swap file is 10GB and ram=4GB so plently of space for hibernation (only
evern hibernate when no swap used, only ram).
Some help would be much appreciated. I have also noticed this is a very old
bug dating back from 2007 but back then it happened during different actions.

P.S. Could this bug be considered as a security vulnerability or not?
Just wondering because if I have an encrypted container (e.g. with
truecrypt) and the system does not shutdown but i assumed it would you
would be able to get all the passwords stored in memory or something
  like that (purely theoretically though)...

- I added this as a security vulnerability as the system remains powered on.
When i hibernate i leave encrypted containers mounted for easy retreival later.
This bug could mean that the cached passwords never get wiped from memory
(correct?). If this isnt a security vulnerability please change it to a normal
bug or tell me how to
-
- Thanks
