Maybe it helps in terms of narrowing in: During multiple installation
attempts of a new 24.04 system it always threw errors once it tried to
install the Kernel. Going threw the output and log of the installer it
seemed like it deems the linux-generic not installable. I see that on an

Reproduced (unintentionally) on noble after I removed the GNOME
Characters and a couple of other GNOME packages and replaced them with
flatpaks. Fixed by installing the native gjs package.

Hi Matthew,
A quick update from me on the testing. It took a couple of days to find a
recipe that reproduces the problem on Plucky, but I now have a test that's
reproduced the issue 4 times in the last 2 days. This isn't as frequently as
Noble, where we saw it approx 1:2000 boots in production
As noted in the entry for 8.3.0~beta2-1, this was disabled due to FTBFS
issues.
