Testing 4.4-rc6 had the difference in result that after the fan went on
max speed (unlike when booting on 3.19.0-25) and hdd was working - after
a while the blue XUbuntu screen with the spinning wheel came up. After
that the screen went black again and hdd stopped.
4.3.3 was same result but withou
After the last few kernel updates, this bug no longer shows up now. The
only case when I need to deactivate then reactivate the touchpad to get
it back in shape is after I resume from a suspend and this is very
supportable and minor.

This isn't related to grub. The LUKS password prompt is on one of the
text ttys ( switch ttys to find it ) and waiting for you to unlock the
volume. The prompt is on a tty because plymouth is not installed into
the initramfs because it has no themes installed. It seems that
lubuntu-core depends

I cannot answer the question, but like a lot of other packages, nethack
is synced from Debian. The new version hasn't appeared there yet, but I

It sent some info, I see from comments above. Did not use ubuntu on this system
for 5 months. had to update and install l python-apport , via command :
sudo apt-get install python-apport --fix-missing
Final error after 'apport-collect 1478044' ran , the browser pop up, plus the
send button:
