On maverick, stuck repeat can be triggered as follows:
1. Type any key
2. Near-simultaneously strike and release Backspace and Backslash '\'
together, with Backspace >slightly< preceding Backslash.
3. The slash key will repeat indefinitely \

Not that this will do much to track down the issue, but I have some more
case history.
Today I was tidying up some vdi disks on my host system (work system
running 10.04 w/ 2.6.31-17 on Core2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz 4GB ram). A disk

i removed mysql-server-5.1 and amarok stopped working, the collection was empty
and when i scanned for it i got
[ERROR!] Tried to perform query on uninitialized MySQL
so it seems in my server amarok was still depending on it
i installed it again and it works again

Ubuntu being based on Debian, I've tried "testing" (aka squeeze). The
good news is that it works without a glitch, the bad one is that I am
switching all our production systems to Debian.

Same here.
After inserting a cd-rom with images, selecting f-spot makes f-spot appear for
a moment after which it dies.
I tried to import manually, but selecting "import" from the file-menu kills
f-spot.
I ran f-spot like this:
f-spot --debug
