Ubuntu being based on Debian, I've tried "testing" (aka squeeze). The good news is that it works without a glitch, the bad one is that I am switching all our production systems to Debian.
FYI, here's a comparison of relevant packages versions on Squeeze and Lucid: Debian Squeeze: -------------------------- GDM: 2.30.2-4 Consolekit: 0.4.1-4 policykit-1: 0.96.2 Kernel: 2.6.32-5 Ubuntu Lucid: -------------------------- GDM: 2.30.2.is.2.30.0-0ubuntu2 (definitely the worst version string I've ever seen) Consolekit: 0.4.1-3ubuntu1 policykit-1: 0.96.2 Kernel: 2.6.32-23-generic -- Active VT tracking can fail at startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544139 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
