Yes, that Xorg.0.log was just after the X reset while on gdm and before logging
in.
I'm attaching Xorg.0.log.old. I'm still on the same session, I haven't rebooted
since.

Here's a fun trick - can you run “GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=yes banshee
--debug” from a terminal and see if videos still crash? I suspect that
this is an artefact of GTK client-side-windows, which is new in Karmic I
think.

I tried this under empathy 2.29.6 and there was an invite button
clicking it popped up a window i inserted the email of the user I wanted
to invite in a gruop chat and nothing happened. then I did the same on
pidgin and worked.

It isn't the "private conversation" that I am talking about here. It is

I finally got this bug into a can yesterday. I thought it had gone away,
but it started showing up again, though very rarely. Then yesterday, I
found a way to reproduce it. At least it worked twice in a row. If

The camera was working in 2.6.31-17-generic and 2.6.31-18-generic and
continued to work in 2.6.31-19-generic. But now I just changed to
2.6.31-19-generic-pae and the camera no longer gets probed. I think the

When I run the Update Manager, the tool became stuck at some point. I let it
run all night and it still was stuck.
I had to reboot to get out. Now whenever I use Synaptic, get the following
error message.

Google Earth on Karmic - same type of crash upon launch. Displays the Earth,
zooms a bit and bounces back to the desktop. Here is my crash log:

Here is the test case that I originally posted in #518269. It is a
PyGTK app with a vte Terminal. It uses forkpty() to create a child
process inside the terminal. That child process dies with this
assertion error when it reaches the raw_input() statement. (Actually,
it seems to need some action
In response to comment #2: removing memtest86+ also removes ubuntu-standard.
According to the package description, ubuntu-standard is used to ensure proper
upgrades and it is recommended that it not be removed.

I have been experiencing this bug with the exact same webcam for several months
now. The camera is detected and shows up when I do an lsusb, but the video
device /dev/video0 fails to open. I did some research on google, and this post
seems to have a solution.

Every time i turn on my computer the volume mutes itself and i have to
