In the "File Management Preferences" dialog box (Edit->Preferences),
under the "Media" tab there are multiple drop-down combo boxes with
items such as "Ask what to do", "Do Nothing", "Open Folder".

While playing a DVD my entire screen shrunk. I have a 1440x900 monitor.
My screen resolution still says I'm running at 1440x900, but my

installing various packages trying to get ROES working (a java based photograph

I saw this problem recently on a system running a very old version of Debian
testing. It's running xserver-xorg 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 and VMware Workstation
5.5.6.
It looks like this is a problem with VMware, not with the X server or anything
else. VMware apparently clears all the modifier maps when i
