I've experienced this as well, when switching using the tasklist applet in the
panel. Alt- tab usually works fine.
Something less annoying than a full reboot is Alt-SysRQ-K, since
ctrl-alt-backspace did not work.

I can confirm this bug, I see this exact behavior on a brand new Feisty

I had the same issue using the open 'ati' driver on my R300 powered
9700Pro when running Totem on gutsy.
How ever if i run VLC and select X11 video output in the advanced
options of the Output Modules item, i get smooth video that doesn't
appear to have any issues, and i don't think its cpu render

AFAIK, there aren't any additional dependencies. Firefox includes the
xml-rpc component and I've built the thunderbird with the component as
well. They both work as expected and I don't have any of the above
packages installed.
Again, all that is required is adding xml-rpc to configure like so:

My router was configured with SSID broadcast disabled. Gutsy seemed to
be not capable to connect to the network. When typing iwlist scan , my

Just an update: after another restart I lost my network connection and
sound. The network manager and volume manager both said I didn't have
devices, and neither my sound card nor my network card use restricted

I can also confirm this bug at Feisty fresh install. However I could not
find out any pattern to reproduce the bug.
The trash applet simply sometimes decides the trash is empty and only
god can convince it otherwise... I have to click it, open the trash and
than ask to empty it.

I've also heard this - again, only in Ogg Vorbis files (which is most of
my music collection...), but MP3s don't seem to have problems.
And like the original reporter, totem has no problem playing the same
Ogg Vorbis files correctly.
