I concur. Using Feisty Fawn, /usr/local/lib is still not a part of the
ld.so.cache.
Usual Linux semantics is the distro packages go into /usr/lib while
third party builds go in /usr/local/lib.
Creating and adding /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf.d/local.conf and
rerunning ldconfig will solve thi

I no longer have the problem, fixed by completely re-writing the
smb.conf manually. I believe the problem falls with the GUI configurures
- so as I am using kubuntu - the samba configurator of kcontrol doesn't
seem to work correctly anymore which it did work in edgy... to a point.

I vote that we implement the patch to be able to disable DPD. The patch is

Okay, I updated to Feisty and totally didn't notice until now that I replaced
some config files in the upgrade, and I've been using the bcm43xx. The only
difference is the rate.

I also forgot to mention that it screwed up the entry for my windows
partiton as well. It appears that it just moved everything up one drive
(hd1 instead of hd0, hd2 instead of hd1). the before and after can be
