After I installed Edgy Eft on my computer it seems that everything is
configured like I got a desktop computer and not a laptop, the Energy
manager does not allow me to configure a battery operated mode, and
there seem to be no difference between the time I operate on battery or
on AC power.

The new kernel installed today. It did not update menu.lst in /boot/grub,
however, I had to do that by hand. This is what I have in
/boot/grub/menu.list (to check to see if it is right):

The problem is completely fixed.
I bought and installed an nVideo GeForce 7300 GS in place of the ATI
Radeon X300 SE.
With the Radeon card, Ubuntu 6.06 LTS and and Ubuntu 6.10 would not
load from the live CD.
Both Ubuntu versions left me with a text lo

I cant open beryl settings manager. It gives me an error like this one:

Its seems that ANY ubuntu-installer will fail, if a "recent grub" is
already there in the partition. I tried Ubuntu 5.10, 6.06, 6.10 all
failed "reinstalling" grub.
Dirty Trick:
- emergency boot from the CDROM
- reinstall grub

This happens to me too with 2.6.20-2-generic on a Compaq Evo N610c
laptop with a Linksys 802.11 adapter (using the bcm32xx module)
If I don't load the module, or if I load the module but keep the PC Card
ejected, it doesn't lock-up. A couple seconds after I insert the PC
Card and load the module,
This issue has been dealt with in the kernel-2.6.20-2 generic upgrade.

I can confirm this on edgy. If the maintainers don't mind, some time
over the holidays, I could spend an afternoon organizing and ordering
them, and make a pretty index page with links to all the HOWTO's as
well.

this might be a duplicate of #62831, not sure though. At least the code
in question that's near the check of file size vs. cluster chain length
contained an integer overflow (very large files affected only).
Too sad you don't have the file any longer, so that you could test my

xsetwacom is still failing in Ubuntu 6.10, with the most recent security
updates/bugfixes. My computer is a custom-built AMD Athlon XP 1500+.
wacdump properly identifies my tablet as a Wacom Graphire3 CTE-630, and
xsetwacom can find it:

I have a similar problem with the libGL warnings. It tends to be
related more to your graphics card than the specific package that tries
to use libGL. Try running another OpenGL app and also let us know what
graphics card you're using (attach the output of `lspci`)
