I upgraded from Breezy to Dapper last night. But, right at the end of the
upgrading process, it gave an error and I had no other choice than to abort the
upgrade. I believe the error it gave was an error 3, I don't remember the
description. It was given as it was setting up
The package that's been broken (libvte) has came from a 3rd party
repository (one of the compiz ones), not from Ubuntu, so no it's not a
ubuntu bug.
libvte is the embedded terminal used in synaptic/gnome-terminal and
others.

With a fresh install of 6.06, GDM freezes within a second or two of
opening. Once I succeeded in typing my username and password and
logging in, only to have X freeze whilst loading the desktop. Adding a

However, I do not remember to have answered "yes" to the corresponding
question. I do not even remember the question, so I stil suspect a bug.
How is Ubuntu able to change the system clock anyway so it influences
other OSes? I think it shouldn't do that.
