Hello,
I am currently porting U-Boot 2011.06 to a board based on a coldfire.
My first step was to make it compile and start on a M5485EVB board.
I will send following this mail the patches I made to do that.

Hi all,
I wanted to develop a personalized U-Boot to my MCF54455 Coldfire V4
microcontroller.
I got the sources from DENX FTP server and now I wanted to get the SELF but I
don't really know wich one should I download. Maybe someone could push me in
the right direction?. Thanks.

Hi all,
so unfortunately (for me), MCF5307 is still not supported.
I took a fast look inside these supported models, to start up a new 5307
support,
but every starting point, for the specific 5307 internal memory layout,
is too different, and can't have the time to accomplish it now.
Hope that
Hi Philippe,
ColdFire Linux does use the MAC address, the issue is that the kernel
does not pass the MAC address properly to the FEC driver. I will pass
up this issue to the Linux team to have it fix soon.
The bd_info struct is still there and has not removed from u-boot source.

Thirumalai,
These ColdFire processors (MCF52277, MCF5235, MCF5249, MCF5253,
MCF5271, MCF5272, MCF5275, MCF5282, MCF5329, MCF5373, MCF5445x, and
MCF547x_8x) are supported by u-boot.
Like Wolfgang Wegner mentioned, you can download the ToolChain at

Hi denx,
I just want to know whether the coldfire processor is supported by

will support or not ?

Hello Tsi Chung Liew,
I have installed u-boot and linux on a in-house-made coldfire mcf5484 based
board. As u-boot currently supports mcf5484-based development boards, I used
that as a starting point for the u-boot port for our in-house board.
For linux unfortunately I needed to stick with the l

Can you please use git-format-patch for creating this patch,
and post it here again not attached, just as plain text?
(Same for your other 3 patches)
Thanks.

Hi TC,
I am trying to understand the use of MCFFEC_TOUT_LOOP, when I grep for it is
used in mcffec, counting udelay(1)
and in mcfmii counting udelay(500). I think the udelay(500) one is causing
extra long delays when trying to boot when the link is not up.
can the mcfmii udelay(500) be udelay(1)
